Laparoscopic Embryo Transfer in Swine: An Effective Alternative to Traditional Open Surgery

open access: yesReproduction in Domestic Animals, Volume 61, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT While embryo transfer (ET) has not yet been widely adopted in the commercial swine industry, it is an essential tool in biomedical research, including the creation of gene‐edited pigs. Traditionally, ET in pigs is performed by open surgery (laparotomy), an effective but invasive and time‐consuming method associated with risks such as infection

B‐Mode Ultrasonographic Evaluation and Reference Dimensions of the Liver and Spleen in Healthy Lactating Saanen Goats

open access: yesVeterinary Radiology &Ultrasound, Volume 67, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to establish reference ultrasonographic parameters for the liver and spleen in 34 healthy Saanen goats. The spleen was visualized between the 12th and 8th intercostal spaces (ICS), with homogeneous parenchyma and a hyperechoic capsule and splenic vein with a mean diameter of 3.3 ± 0.9 mm.

Toward Practical Embryo Genomic Selection in Cattle: An Optimized Workflow Enabling High‐Accuracy Breeding Value Prediction Without Compromising Embryo Survival

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 7, 15 April 2026.
A diameter‐guided workflow was established to define the appropriate trophectoderm (TE) biopsy area window for bovine blastocysts, with the aim of balancing embryo viability and genotyping reliability. After TE biopsy, sampled cells were subjected to DNA amplification and genomic evaluation, while the corresponding biopsied embryos were transferred to ...
