Agent-Based Social Simulations

2014
We start with a brief introduction to complex systems. Then we briefly review the so-called cellular automata, of which the Game of Life is just one fascinating example. After that we shift attention towards a special kind of computational models called agent-based models, that can be seen as natural extensions of cellular automata.

Agent-Based Simulation Study

2014
In the agent-based simulation study, the basic concept is to model the acceptance and implementation of supplier innovations by first describing simple rules of behavior for the different types of agents and then aggregating these rules. In particular, the case study results are used to set the agents’ rules of behavior.

Agent-Based Simulation Modeling

2016
Computer simulations are a powerful tool for scientific research, but lack an accepted methodology for their use, and consequently their results are generally received with skepticisms. This chapter proposes a methodological approach allowing to formally unify the treatment of “traditional” quantitative phenomena with that of phenomena from economics ...

Multi Agent Based Simulation: Beyond Social Simulation

2000
Multi Agent Based Simulation (MABS) has been used mostly in purely social contexts. However, compared to other approaches, e.g., traditional discrete event simulation, object-oriented simulation and dynamic micro simulation, MABS has a number of interesting properties which makes it useful also for other domains.
