Revealing and quantifying polyclonal anti‐A, B specificity in ABO histo‐blood groups
Abstract Background The clinically significant antibody anti‐A,B together with anti‐A and anti‐B has been known for many decades to be present in blood group O plasma. As anti‐A,B is only reactive when an A or B antigen is present, its contribution to titer cannot be easily distinguished from anti‐A and/or anti‐B.

Genetic diversity in RHD and RHCE genes among a selected Kenyan blood donor population
Abstract Background Serologic typing for ABO and RhD is standard in transfusion services, with extended serology and genotyping performed to reduce red cell alloimmunization risk. In Kenya, RH typing is limited to RhD, and genotyping is unavailable. This study used RHD/RHCE genotyping to predict phenotypes and their distribution in a Kenyan blood donor

Abstract Background ABO‐incompatible (ABOi) hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is often associated with ABO discrepancies post‐HSCT. Re‐emergence of the patient's original type post‐HSCT may signal graft loss, disease relapse, recent transfusion, or soluble ABO antigen.

Evaluation of ELISA and Brucellacapt tests for diagnosis of human Brucellosis [PDF]
Background and Objectives: Brucellosis is one of the most common zoonotic diseases in Iran and human brucellosis is endemic in all parts of the country. Because of the difficulty in the diagnosis of brucellosis, particularly in endemic areas, the use of ...

Rare antigen‐negative red blood cells from pluripotent stem cells for precision transfusion medicine
Abstract Background Blood bank identification of antibodies against high‐prevalence antigens remains a challenge due to the scarcity of antigen‐negative reagent red cells sourced from blood donors. The MAM antigen, encoded by EMP3, is one such antigen associated with red cell alloimmunization and hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn. Study Design

Abstract Background and Objectives Daratumumab, a therapeutic human anti‐CD38 monoclonal antibody, improves multiple myeloma outcomes but interferes with pre‐transfusion testing by binding CD38 on reagent red blood cells (RBCs), potentially masking clinically significant alloantibodies.
