Protein‐Like Polymers Targeting Keap1/Nrf2 as Therapeutics for Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 27, July 10, 2025.
We describe a Keap1 targeting protein‐like polymer (PLP) which activates Nrf2, an important cytoprotective transcription factor for relieving myocardial infarction‐induced oxidative stress. This PLP increases cell survival in vitro in multiple relevant cardiac cell types and elicits pro‐reparative responses, improving cardiac function in a preclinical ...

The FGF13‐Caveolin‐1 Axis: A Key Player in the Pathogenesis of Doxorubicin‐ and D‐Galactose‐Induced Premature Cardiac Aging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 25, July 3, 2025.
The FGF13 level is significantly downregulated in premature aging murine hearts subject to D‐galactose and Doxorubicin. FGF13 overexpression and deficiency exacerbated and alleviated Doxorubicin/D‐galactose‐induced myocardial aging characteristics and functional impairment, respectively.

Cardiac Slc25a49‐Mediated Energy Reprogramming Governs Doxorubicin‐Induced Cardiomyopathy through the G6P–AP‐1–Sln Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 26, July 10, 2025.
Doxorubicin‐induced cardiomyopathy involves mitochondrial energy metabolism dysfunction, exacerbated by cardiomyocyte‐specific Slc25a49 deficiency via oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) suppression and glycolysis activation. The Slc25a49–glucose‐6‐phosphate (G6P)–activator protein‐1 (AP‐1) axis drives myocardial injury by upregulating Sln, disrupting ...
