Fuzzy formulation for multi-product aggregate production planning
Production Planning & Control, 2000Abstract Considering that the demand requirements are fuzzy demand in each period during the planning horizon, this paper focuses on a novel approach to modelling multi-product aggregate production planning (APP) problems with fuzzy demands and fuzzy capacities.

Aggregate production planning with workforce transferring plan for multiple product types
Production Planning & Control, 2003This paper presents the aggregate production planning for multiple product types where the worker resource can be transferred among the production lines. A mathematical model was formulated in spreadsheet format. Then the spreadsheet-solver technique was used as a tool to solve the model.

Production Switching Heuristics for the Aggregate Planning Problem
Management Science, 1978A number of approaches to the aggregate planning problem have been proposed in the literature, yet experience suggests that industrial concerns seldom use these models in actual planning situations. This paper describes a modified random walk production-inventory heuristic for the problem which should appeal to managers on the basis of simplicity as ...

Aggregate Planning with Learning Curve Productivity
Management Science, 1976Research reports of others indicate that many manufacturing organizations experience (a) the probiem of aggregate planning, and (b) experience systematic productivity changes throughout the “life” of a product. Methods for resolving (a) and for quantifying (b) have been developed and applied independently in the operations management literature.

Aggregate Model for Refinery Production Planning
2012Abstract With increasing crude oil price, refining of crude oil blends becomes common practice. This paper is aimed at developing a mathematic model for CDU and VDU in GAMS through information obtained from corresponding rigorous modelling in Aspen HYSYS. This model for CDU and VDU will be combined with empirical models for fluid catalytic cracker (

Integration of machine requirements planning and aggregate production planning
Production Planning & Control, 1996Abstract Although machine requirements planning and aggregate planning problems have been treated as separate areas of research, the two are closely related in most production environments. This article presents a mathematical programming model that concurrently encompasses the two areas.

Convex optimisation for aggregate production planning
International Journal of Production Research, 2013This paper presents a new solution approach to the problem of aggregate production planning (APP). As identified by many researchers, the APP cost function is convex and piecewise. Thus, the convex optimisation approach can be applied to the APP problem.

Five Approaches to Aggregate Production Planning
A I I E Transactions, 1975Abstract Production scheduling problems are reviewed briefly and the smoothing problem is defined as planning the aggregate production level for each period in a given horizon to meet forecast demand. Five approaches to the problem are reviewed: (1) the HMMS linear decision rule for production and employment; (2) the DE rule for production, in which ...
