Saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks) is one of the most important soil physical characteristics that plays a major role in the soil hydrological behaviour. It is mainly affected by the soil structure characteristics.

Evaluation of the Properties of Bituminous Concrete Prepared from Brick-Stone Mix Aggregate
The paper describes an investigation into mechanical properties of brick-stone bituminous concrete mix. The effect of brick-stone mix on various mechanical properties of the bituminous concrete such as Marshall stability, flow, Marshall Quotient ...

Using factor analysis to distinguish between effective and ineffective aggregate stability indices [PDF]
Several existing aggregate stability indices are commonly used to represent aggregate stability of soil. Consequently, there is a need to determine how well these common indices characterize or represent aggregate stability.

Aggregation and stability in parasite—host models
SUMMARYThis paper generalizes the two-dimensional approximation of models of macroparasites on homogeneous populations developed by Anderson & May (1978), focusing on how the dispersion (the variance to mean ratio) of the equilibrium distribution of parasites on hosts is related to the stability of the equilibrium. We show in the approximate system

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A dynamic econometric study of income, energy and exports in Turkey [PDF]
This study attempts to examine empirically dynamic causal relationships between aggregate output, energy consumption, exports, capital and labour in the case of Turkey using the time series data for the period 1968-2008.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Aggregation characteristics and maturity of Peak District soils [PDF]
Soil aggregation and aggregate stability are fundamental factors in determination of soil erodibility. The aggregation characteristics of soils in a region of high erosion potential are measured, and controlling factors examined.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
