It was in 1990, when I was still studying my degree in Computer Science, when I met Prof. Lotfi Zadeh for the first time, if I do not remember wrongly. It was in a conference I was participating in Barcelona where he gave one of the plenary talks. I remember clearly that he mentioned fuzzy systems and the successful Japanese applications of the late ...

This paper treats the problem of fitting aggregation operators to empirical data. Specifically, we are interested in modelling of the conjunction in human language. To our knowledge, the first attempt to see how humans "interpret" the conjunction for graded properties is due to the paper [1]. In that case, simply the minimum t-norm came out.

On Yager's aggregation operators
[1992] Proceedings The Twenty-Second International Symposium on Multiple-Valued Logic, 2003R.R. Yager (1988) introduced a special type of aggregation operator, OWA operators, and applied them to multicriterion decision-making. An alternative definition of such operators is given. and their structural properties are investigated in some detail. >

Aggregation Operators and Additive Generators
International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems, 2001Generated aggregation operators on continuous and discrete scales derived by means of a generating system are introduced. Linear generating systems are shown to be equivalent with the class of weighted means. The following classes are characterized: symmetric generated aggregation operators, idempotent generated aggregation operators, generated ...

ASYMPTOTICALLY IDEMPOTENT AGGREGATION OPERATORS
International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems, 2009This paper deals with aggregation operators. A new form of idempotency, called asymptotic idempotency, is introduced. A critical discussion of the basic notion of aggregation operator, strictly connected with asymptotic idempotency, is provided. Some general construction methods of symmetric, asymptotically idempotent aggregation operators admitting a

A discussion on aggregation operators
Kybernetika, 2004Summary: Lately, it has become clear that aggregation processes cannot be based upon a unique binary operator. Global aggregation operators have been therefore introduced as families of aggregation operators \(\{T_n\}_n\), where the \(n\)-ary operator\(T_n\) amalgamates information whenever the number of items to be aggregated is \(n\). Of course, some
