Likelihood calculation for pedigrees is complicated and often time-consuming. Testing correlation structures due to familial aggregation is therefore a preliminary procedure. A score statistic is given to check correlations between relatives of randomly chosen pedigrees. This statistic can be used for quantitative and dichotomous data.

Aggregation is the process of combining several numerical values into a single representative value, and an aggregation function performs this operation. These functions arise wherever aggregating information is important: applied and pure mathematics (probability, statistics, decision theory, functional equations), operations research, computer ...

This entry on monetary aggregation will appear under that title in The New Palgrave Dictionary of Economics, 2nd edition, edited by Steven Durlauf and Lawrence Blume. The entry provides an up-to-date overview of state-of-the-art research on monetary aggregation and index number theory, from its origins in 1980 to the current time.

Advances in Colloid and Interface Science, 1987
In recent years it has been shown that the structures of a wide variety of colloidal aggregates can be described in terms of the concepts of fractal geometry. The purpose of this review is to discuss some of the evidence for fractal geometry in experimental systems and indicate how fractal geometry can be used to develop a better understanding of their

Cell aggregation rate versus aggregate size
Developmental Biology, 1976Abstract Three conditions which influence both the aggregation rate and the final size of aggregates of dissociated embryonic chick retina cells were studied to determine whether there was a strict relationship between these two variables. The length of trypsinization time, age of the embryo, and concentration of chondroitin sulfate in the medium ...

Aggregation and Identification
International Economic Review, 1976THE PURPOSE OF THIS PAPER is to develop the theory of aggregation in a relatively simple and general manner. The theory encompasses linear and nonlinear models, with the results for linear models emerging as special cases of a more general treatment. It was recognized at an early stage of the investigation of aggregation problems that the analysis must
