Aggregation of Nerlovian profit indicator
Applied Economics Letters, 2008This note shows that the Nerlovian profit indicator may be aggregated over firms into an industry measure of profit efficiency. The note also provides conditions under which the technical component of the indicator may also be aggregated.

Aggregable Health Inequality Indices
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2016An aggregable family of multidimensional concentration indices is characterized, in order to be consistent with a property of exogenous risk factors, i.e. health risks for which agents are not responsible for. The family of concentration indices (or achievement indices by duality) lies in the class of polynomial functions.

An Examination of Indicator Values and Their Aggregation
2002The OPA Framework relies on indicators, defined and developed in the tradition of social science research. Indicators are surrogates that are directly measurable; whereas the attributes are concepts that do not admit to direct measurement. The value and benefits derived from a software measurement program accrue in time as experience enables the user ...

On measures of aggregation and indices of contagion
Mathematical Biosciences, 1976Abstract The spatial pattern or distribution of a population (of plant, animals, etc.) dispersed over a continuous surface may be studied through the observed frequency distribution for counts of individuals in randomly sampled quadrats. A number of measures of aggregation for the purpose of describing spatial patterns based on such counts have been ...

Statistical Inference for Aggregation of Malmquist Productivity Indices
Operations ResearchA Comprehensive Set of Asymptotic Properties for a Meaningful Aggregation of Malmquist Indices The Malmquist productivity index (MPI) has become one of the most widely used tools for analyzing dynamic performance of decision-making units. Whereas accounting for economic weights of individual units in aggregations of indices is emphasized in the ...

Aggregating sustainability indicators: Beyond the weighted sum
Journal of Environmental Management, 2012Sustainability analysts and environmental decision makers often overcome the difficulty of interpreting comprehensive environmental profiles by aggregating the results using multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) methods. However, the wide variety of methodological approaches to weighting and aggregation introduces subjectivity and often uncertainty ...

Aggregate Price Indices, New Goods, and Generics
The Quarterly Journal of Economics, 1995Summary: This paper examines the appropriate treatment in the cost-of-living index of the appearance of new varieties of old goods. Existing theory here applies to individual households. Thus, we first show in what sense Laspeyres and Paasche indices for groups of households can be considered approximations to theoretically desirable group indices and ...

CONSISTENCY‐IN‐AGGREGATION AND STUVEL INDICES
Review of Income and Wealth, 1996In the National Accounts framework a frequent use is made of value, price, and quantity indices. Three requirements appear to be of vital importance. (i) For each aggregate the price index multiplied by the quantity index must be equal to the value index.

An aggregated energy security performance indicator
Applied Energy, 2013An “Aggregated Energy Security Performance Indicator (AESPI)” has been developed by considering 25 individual indicators representing social, economy and environmental dimensions. The principle used, data required and the methodology for the development of AESPI have been detailed.

Comparing Air Quality Indices Aggregated by Pollutant
2011In this paper a new aggregate Air Quality Index (AQI) useful for describing the global air pollution situation for a given area is proposed. The index, unlike most of currently used AQIs, takes into account the combined effects of all the considered pollutants to human health.
