How persistent is disaggregate inflation? An analysis across EU 15 countries and HICP sub-indices [PDF]
This paper analyses the degree of inflation persistence in the EU15, the euro area and each of its member states using disaggregate price indices from the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices.

Applying successive H indices in the institutional evaluation: a case study [PDF]
The present work shows the applying of successive H indices in the evaluation of a scientific institution, using the researcher-department-institution hierarchy as level of aggregation.

A Disposable Blood-on-a-Chip for Simultaneous Measurement of Multiple Biophysical Properties
Biophysical properties are widely used to detect pathophysiological processes of vascular diseases or clinical states. For early detection of cardiovascular diseases, it is necessary to simultaneously measure multiple biophysical properties in a ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Compositional Approximate Markov Chain Aggregation for PEPA Models [PDF]
Approximate Markov chain aggregation involves the construction of a smaller Markov chain that approximates the behaviour of a given chain. We discuss two different approaches to obtain a nearly optimal partition of the state-space, based on different ...

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Aggregation tools for the evaluation of classifications [PDF]
This paper focuses on key issues related to aggregation tools within knowledge acquisition, and in particular for image processing. In particular, it is claimed the need of a number of simultaneous indices in order to evaluate the quality of a fuzzy ...

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...
