CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Group Decision-Making Approach without Weighted Aggregation Operators

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2018
This paper introduces an approach for group decision-making problems (GDMP) without weighted aggregation operators. This approach is more suitable for scenarios with infinite number of individuals.

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Aggregation Operators and Quadric Hypersurfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Aggregation operators that are quadric hypersurfaces are studied. The interest lays in the fact that the most popular aggregation operators are indeed quadric hypersurfaces.

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Comonotone aggregation operators

open access: yesRendiconti di Matematica e delle Sue Applicazioni, 2000
Let \((\Omega,{\mathcal A})\) be a measurable space, \(0< F\leq+\infty\), \({\mathcal F}\) the family of all \({\mathcal A}\)-measurable \([0,F]\)-valued functions and \(\oplus\) a pseudo-addition on \([0,F]\). A \(\oplus\)-comonotone aggregation operator is defined as a functional \(L:{\mathcal F}\to [0,F]\) which is idempotent, monotone, continuous ...

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Performance analysis of carrier aggregation for various mobile network implementations scenario based on spectrum allocated

open access: yes, 2017
Carrier Aggregation (CA) is one of the Long Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-A) features that allow mobile network operators (MNO) to combine multiple component carriers (CCs) across the available spectrum to create a wider bandwidth channel for increasing ...
