Constriction, Aggression, and Assertive Training
Psychological Reports, 1972Pearsonian correlations were obtained between indices of motor and attitudinal aggression and Bates-Zimmerman constriction scores for 17 psychiatric patients selected for assertive training. Constriction appeared negatively related to motor components of aggression (assault, verbal aggression) but unrelated to attitudinal hostility.

Psychological Reports, 1979Teachers rated the social behavior, aggressive and otherwise, of high school students according to a 25-item adjective checklist. Principal components analysis of the rating scales yielded five factors: social boldness, positive regard, weakness of will, openness, and social facility.

Selected Personality Correlates of Assertiveness and Aggressiveness
Psychological Reports, 198838 men and 74 women participated in a study of the relationships among neuroticism, extraversion, locus of control, and assertiveness and aggressiveness, respectively. Aggressiveness was related to extraversion and internal locus of control, while assertiveness was associated with stability as opposed to neuroticism.
