Enhancing performance of detection dog field surveys through experimental transects

We evaluated performance parameters for a scat detection dog through assessment transects and compared these results with field survey data from the same dog‐team over a 4‐year period. From this, we derived valuable insights into the suitability of assessment transects for dog evaluation and how they can inform field performance.
