The question of whether galaxy mergers are linked to the triggering of active galactic nuclei (AGN) continues to be a topic of considerable debate. The issue can be broken down into two distinct questions: 1) Can galaxy mergers trigger AGN? 2) Are galaxy

A Synovium‐on‐Chip Platform to Study Multicellular Interactions in Arthritis
The Synovium‐on‐Chip comprises a thin microporous PDMS membrane to support co‐culture of fibroblast‐like synoviocytes (FLS), THP‐1‐derived macrophages, and endothelial cells, enabling real‐time analysis of synovial‐vascular interactions. FLS migration through the pores drives endothelial remodeling, while TNF‐α stimulation induces robust inflammatory ...

Polymer‐Based Composite Fibers for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding
Polymer‐based EMI shielding composite fibers attract extensive research attention owing to their light weight, flexibility, and processability. This review summarizes their preparation strategies including wet spinning and electrospinning, analyzes structural designs such as solid, core–shell, and hollow structures, discusses their impacts on shielding

Environment and Gas Fraction in Type 2 AGN versus Non-AGN Galaxies
We investigate the environmental parameters and gas fraction ( f _gas ) properties of type 2 active galactic nuclei (AGN) and non-AGN galaxies, utilizing a large sample of galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey DR7 with z ≤ 0.3.

Radio Jets in Galaxies with Actively Accreting Black Holes: new insights from the SDSS
The majority of nearby radio-loud AGN are found in massive, old elliptical galaxies with weak emission lines. At high redshifts, however, most known radio AGN have strong emission lines.

Obscured and unobscured AGN populations in a hard-X-ray selected sample of the XMDS survey [PDF]
Our goal is to probe the populations of obscured and unobscured AGN investigating their optical-IR and X-ray properties as a function of X-ray flux, luminosity and redshift within a hard X-ray selected sample of 136 X-ray sources in the XMM Medium Deep ...

AGNs: Demography and Remnants [PDF]
In this contribution I shall first briefly review the arguments suggesting that most galaxies pass through a quasar or AGN phase early in their lifetime, perhaps concurrent with bulge formation. Then, as a footnote to the paper by van der Marel, I will discuss how relic black holes in quiescent galaxies could reveal themselves by the occasional flares ...

Collectively, these findings indicate that agri‐environment schemes aiming to support solitary bees should integrate the provision of nesting resources with proximity to floral resources. The heterogeneity among studies highlights the need for solitary bee conservation measures to be tailored to local conditions and to the local fauna.
