THE HOST GALAXIES OF 23,000 AGN
Multiwavelength AGN Surveys, 2004We examine the relationship between galaxies, supermassive black holes and AGN using a sample of ~ 2 3 , 0 0 0 narrow-emission-line (Type 2) AGN drawn from a sample of ~ 1 2 3 , 0 0 0 galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. We have studied how AGN host properties compare to those of normal galaxies and how they depend on the luminosity of the ...

Two-Dimensional Modeling of AGN Host Galaxies
2001We present a method to model the two-dimensional light distribution of Quasar and Seyfert 1 host galaxies by multi-component fitting. The method has been tested on a large set of simulations, showing its ability to recover total fluxes and morphological properties within the observational errors.

AGN, host galaxies, and starbursts
Proceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2019AbstractAGN by definition live in galaxies. Despite a long history of studies, there is still much ongoing research into the interplay of the nucleus and the host galaxy, how do they affect each other, how is their evolution intertwined. This review will briefly go over the historical developments behind the current understanding of AGN host galaxies ...
