Synthesis and Summary Report on State of the Art, Drivers and Stakeholders of Energy Efficiency in Agricullture, and Potential of Energy Saving Measures

open access: yes, 2012
Improvements in the energy efficiency of agricultural production have the potential to significantly reduce energy inputs and thereby reducing production costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

Constraint-driven Agree

open access: yes, 2022
Recent work (e.g. Deal 2015, Keine 2020) argues that the lexical specification of a probe has two components: (i) specification for constraints favoring Agree with prominent features on a person or discourse hierarchy and (ii) specification for ...

To agree or to agree to disagree: that is the question

open access: yes, 2012
The goal of the paper is to offer a characterisation of different ways of using the terms agreement and disagreement and to assess disagreements where subjects take themselves to instantiate the epistemic peerage relation. A distinction between merely verbal and substantive disagreement is put forth.

Agreeing to Agree: Conflict Resolution for Optimistically Replicated Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Current techniques for reconciling disconnected changes to optimistically replicated data often use version vectors or related mechanisms to track causal histories. This allows the system to tell whether the value at one replica dominates another or whether the two replicas are in conflict.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Cyclic Agree

open access: yes, 2009
International audienceWe propose that agreement displacement phenomena sensitive to person hierarchies arise from the mechanism of Agree operating on articulated -feature structures in a cyclic syntax.
