Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Numerical validation of the two-scale actuator disc theory for marine turbine arrays [PDF]
The challenge in the hydrodynamic modelling of tidal and marine turbine farms is to take into account the interaction of flow events across a wide range of scales, such as the blade scale, turbine scale, array scale and regional scale.

Prediction for Nonabelian Fine Structure Constants from Multicriticality
In developing a model for predicting the nonabelian gauge coupling constants we argue for the phenomenological validity of a ``principle of multiple point criticality''. This is supplemented with the assumption of an ``(grand) anti-unified'' gauge group $

Scaling the Temperature-dependent Boson Peak of Vitreous Silica with the high-frequency Bulk Modulus derived from Brillouin Scattering Data [PDF]
The position and strength of the boson peak in silica glass vary considerably with temperature $T$. Such variations cannot be explained solely with changes in the Debye energy.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The question of scale economies in software—why cannot researchers agree?
This paper investigates the different research results obtained when different researchers have investigated the issue of economies and diseconomies of scale in software projects. Although researchers have used broadly similar sets of software project data sets, the results of their analyses and the conclusions they have drawn have differed.
