A New Agricultural Drought Index to Characterize Agricultural Drought Using Data Mining Techniques
Drought monitoring is a critical task as its occurrence and extent vary according to many factors like drought type, risk, agricultural losses, and impact. Monitoring drought is important because the footprint of this hazard is larger than that of other natural hazards. Many drought indices are developed to monitor complex drought conditions.

Reuse of Water as Part of a Water Sustainability Strategy: Experiences of Germany and Poland
ABSTRACT Wastewater can provide an alternative supply of scarce water resources, particularly for operations that do not require high‐quality water. The uptake in wastewater usage is likely to be driven by a combination of public and private sector actors via internal actions and external collaborations.

Upon conceptualization of structural behavior, foundations in terms of their form are divided into linear (1D), planar (2D), and volumetric (3D). Regarding the load transfer mechanisms, linear foundation systems are considered vector‐acting, planar foundations are divided into section and surface‐acting, and volumetric ones are recognized as block ...

Starving for Data: Eating Disorders Prevalence and Research Gaps in Southern Africa
ABSTRACT Objective Studies reporting prevalence estimates of eating disorders in Southern Africa are scarce. To fill this gap, the present Research Forum reviews existing literature on the prevalence of eating disorders, including as assessed by clinical interviews, screeners, and self‐reported behaviors, among individuals in Southern Africa.

Drought is a major natural hazard that seriously threatens agricultural production and food security. However, most existing drought indices rely on a single variable or scale, limiting their ability to capture the complexity of agricultural drought.

Developing a macroecology for human‐altered ecosystems
Although anthropogenically‐induced ecological disruptions are fundamentally important in defining ecosystem properties, they are largely overlooked by macroecological theory. Anthropogenic disruptions and their effects are generally not comparable to one another, nor to disturbances that are part of natural disturbance regimes.
