Chloroplast genome characteristic, comparative and phylogenetic analyses in Capsicum (Solanaceae)

open access: yesBMC Genomics
Background Capsicum (Solanaceae) is a globally important vegetable crop and is also used therapeutically in traditional medicine systems. However, little is known of the genetic variation within the commonly grown cultivars, the evolutionary ...

Oral Recombinant Human Collagen III Protects Gastric Mucosa via G‐Quadruplex‐Mediated Activation of the Pla2g4a‐Prostaglandin Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Orally administered recombinant human type III collagen protects the gastric mucosa from ethanol‐induced injury by coordinating redox homeostasis, epithelial barrier repair, and arachidonic acid–prostaglandin metabolism. Gastric digestion releases the pentapeptide GPAEF, which interacts with the Pla2g4a promoter G‐quadruplex in a structure‐dependent ...

Thermal Shifts Dominate Single‐Gene Responses to Transcription‐Targeting Antibiotics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Thermal shifts reshape bacterial responses to transcription‐targeting antibiotics. In E. coli, temperature can dominate antibiotic‐induced genome‐wide expression, particularly outside 30°C–39°C, through changes in adenosine triphosphate (ATP), nucleoid organization, and drug‐target engagement.

Non‐Coding Transcripts From Diversified Members of IgLec Family Protect Antiviral Effectors From Viral miRNA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The IgLec gene family generates both protein‐coding antiviral effectors and non‐coding transcripts. Upon viral infection, non‐coding transcripts are preferentially targeted by viral miR‐N48, thereby buffering protein‐coding isoforms from repression. Depletion of these decoy transcripts compromises antiviral defense, revealing a non‐coding RNA‐mediated ...
