High-Resolution Analysis of the Efficiency, Heritability, and Editing Outcomes of CRISPR/Cas9-Induced Modifications of NCED4 in Lettuce (Lactuca sativa). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
CRISPR/Cas9 is a transformative tool for making targeted genetic alterations. In plants, high mutation efficiencies have been reported in primary transformants. However, many of the mutations analyzed were somatic and therefore not heritable.

Inhibition of Agrobacterium-Induced Cell Death by Antiapoptotic Gene Expression Leads to Very High Transformation Efficiency of Banana

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2007
The death of plant cells in culture following exposure to Agrobacterium tumefaciens remains a major obstacle in developing Agrobacterium-mediated transformation into a highly efficient genotype-independent technology.

Evaluation of fluorescence-activated cell sorting technology in agrobacterium biocontrol

open access: yesJournal of Crop Protection, 2021
Fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) as a novel and sensitive technology was used to evaluate the biocontrol efficiency of Bacillus subtilis against Agrobacterium tumefaciens, a very destructive plant pathogen.

Transport of nonmetabolizable opines by Agrobacterium tumefaciens

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1991
We have examined the uptake of [14C]octopine and [14C]nopaline by Agrobacterium tumefaciens strains containing the C58 chromosomal background in medium suitable for the induction of vir genes. All strains tested could transport both of these opines, regardless of the presence or type of Ti plasmid (octopine or nopaline) present in the bacterium.

Agrobacterium Mediated Transformation of Maize (Zea mays L.) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2010
Agrobacterium tumefaciens mediated transformation may offer a better alternative than the biolistic gun for genetic transformation of maize plants. This gene delivery system results in a greater proportion of stable, low-copy number transgenic events ...

Nodule Initiation Elicited by Noninfective Mutants of \u3cem\u3eRhizobium phaseoli\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
Rhizobium phaseoli CE106, CE110, and CE115, originally derived by transposon mutagenesis (Noel et al., J. Bacteriol. 158:149-155, 1984), induced the formation of uninfected root nodule-like swellings on bean (Phaseolus vulgaris).
