Agromyzidae This family contains over 3,000 species (Evenhuis & Pape 2020). Rondani (1875b) described 15 Palaearctic nominal species, six considered as valid, six as junior synonyms and three as nomina dubia (Papp 1984b, Spencer & Martinez 1987, Canzoneri et al. 1995, Evenhuis & Pape 2020).

New records of Agromyzidae (Diptera) from Bulgaria

New knowledge on the distribution of leaf-miner flies (Diptera, Agromyzidae) in Bulgaria are presented in this paper. New faunistic data on 219 species are presented, of which 107 species are recorded as new for the fauna of Bulgaria. Four species are described as new to science and illustrated: Ophiomyia balcanica sp.

New Central American Agromyzidae

This paper includes the descriptions of Agromyzidae reared by the writer as leaf-miners from Barro Colorado Island, C. Z., leaf-miners and gall-makers reared by Heinrich Schmidt from Costa Rica, species collected by C. H. Curran and August Busck in Panama and some taken by the late J. M. Aldrich in Guatemala.

Agromyzid leafminers are economic and quarantine pests of a variety of vegetables, flowers, and ornamental foliage. Methyl bromide fumigation is often used as a phytosanitary treatment when quarantined agromyzids are found in shipped commodities; alternative treatments are sought.
