The sealing ability of sealapex compared with AH26
Journal of Endodontics, 1986A new calcium hydroxide root canal sealer (Sealapex) was tested in vitro for leakage using another sealer (AH26) for which information is already available for comparison. Leakage patterns were observed over 26 wk using the electrochemical method. Sealapex was found to exhibit significantly less leakage than AH26 up to the 12th wk, but this difference ...

Leakage of AH26 and ketac-endo used with injected warm gutta-percha
Journal of Endodontics, 1997Condensing warm gutta-percha (GP) can greatly reduce the distance between the GP and the root canal walls (RCW). Different sealers with different film thicknesses may seal such close fits differently. With the use of a fluid transport model, leakage of AH26 and Ketac-Endo used with injected warm GP to fill root canals was measured. The distance between

Dye penetration in root canals filled with AH26 in different consistencies
Journal of Endodontics, 1994It is recommended that the powder to liquid ratio of AH26 be very high and that the mixture be warmed to decrease viscosity before insertion into the root canal. In this study, the effectiveness of the powder to liquid ratio and temperature were assessed using 60 root canals of maxillary central incisors randomly divided into four groups after their ...

Examination of cytotoxicity and mutagenicity of AH26 and AH Plus sealers
International Endodontic Journal, 2003AbstractAim To study in vitro the cytotoxic and mutagenic effects of AH26 and AH Plus.Methodology Cytotoxic effects on Chinese hamster V79 cells were determined by counting viable cells following incubation with eluations of AH26 and AH Plus. In one set of experiments, the materials were mixed, set for 1 h and then eluted with dimethyl sulphoxide ...

Sealing properties of Ketac-Endo glass ionomer cement and AH26 root canal sealers
International Endodontic Journal, 1994SummarySealing capacity, setting shrinkage and setting time of a recently introduced glass ionomer cement Ketac‐Endo were compared with that of a conventional sealer AH26. Sixty half‐cylinders, 8 mm long, 4 mm in diameter, made from fresh bovine root dentine, had their smear layer removed before being cemented together while separated by 1‐mm spacers ...

Lactate Dehydrogenase Leakage of Hepatocytes with AH26 and AH Plus Sealer Treatments
Journal of Endodontics, 2000Numerous root canals filling materials are available in the field of dentistry, based on various formulas that contain a variety of different and partly mutagenic components, such as epoxy resin sealers, Ca(OH)2-based materials, and zinc oxide-eugenol cements.

Effect of implantaton of AH26 silver-free in subcutaneous tissue of guinea-pigs
International Endodontic Journal, 1986Summary. Twenty‐five polyethylene tubes filled with AH26 sealer, regular or silver‐free, were implanted subcutaneously in the backs of seven young guinea‐pigs. The tissue reactions were studied after 2 months and evaluated for the amount of inflammation and fibrosis present at the openings of the tubes.

Evaluation of the cytotoxicity of AH+ and AH26 on Chinese Hamster V79 cells [PDF]
The purpose of this study was to evaluate in vitro the cytotoxic effect of root canal filling sealers, AH+ and AH26. The experiments were performed on Chinese hamster fibroblasts V79. The materials were mixed, crushed, and extracted in dimethyl sulphoxide. Such extracts were incubated at 37°C for 1 h, 24 h or 7 days. They were added to V79 cell samples.

Attenuation of AH26-Induced Apoptosis by Inhibition of SAPK/JNK Pathway in MC-3T3 E1 Cells
Journal of Endodontics, 2010The cytotoxicity of AH26, a resin-based sealer, induces apoptosis in osteoblast cells. However, the apoptosis pathway is not completely understood. This study examined the apoptosis pathway and its regulation of AH26 through mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPKs), which may play a role in reducing the cytotoxicity of AH26.Using mouse osteoblasts ...
