A comparative evaluation of efficacy of root surface biomodification using MTAD, MTAD+I-PRF on adhesion of fibrin clot to dentin sem study

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences
Root biomodifiers help in removing the smear layer following mechanical debridement. In this context, we evaluated and compared the in vitro efficacy of MTAD, MTAD+I-PRF, and phosphate-buffered saline-conditioned dentin surfaces by examining the ...

Comparing The Antibacterial Efficacy of NaoCL, Chlorhexidine, NaOCL/MTAD Chlorhexidine/MTAD Against E. Faecalis [PDF]

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Science and Engineering, 2023
Aim of study: This study aims at comparing the anti-microbial efficacy of irrigation with Biopure MTAD against irrigation with 5.25 % NaOCl, CHX, NaOCl/MTAD, and CHX/MTAD in E. faecalis-root canals.

Development of a Scalable and Sublimation-Free Route to MTAD

open access: yesOrganic Process Research and Development, 2020
The cyclic azodicarbonyl 4-methyl-1,2,4-triazoline-3,5-dione (MTAD) is a versatile and powerful reagent used mainly in cycloaddition chemistry. Though known for more than 50 years, its unsafe preparation, as well as purification by sublimation, hampered its widespread applicability on a larger scale.

Effect of MTAD on the shear bond strength of self-etch adhesives to dentin

open access: yesDental Research Journal, 2012
Background: As the use of different irrigants to eliminate residual debris and smear layer in the field of endodontic is unavoidable, by considering the effect of irrigants on the bond strength of resin composite restorations, this study was designed to ...

Theoretical impact of a mobile team dedicated to patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias on medication exposure in community-dwelling older patients (MEMORIAS study) [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Geriatrics
Background Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) are frequently associated with behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), which complicate care, increase medication exposure and cognitive iatrogenic risk.

Comparison of smear layer removing efficacy of Cold Atmospheric Pressure (CAP) Plasma Jet with different chelating agents. An ex-vivo study [PDF]

open access: yesBiomaterial Investigations in Dentistry, 2023
The present study aimed to assess the effectiveness of different final irrigation regimens (Cold Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jet, MTAD, and EDTA) in removing the smear layer from intra-radicular dentin using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).

Effect of Addition of Cetylpyridinium Chloride Cationic Surfactant on the Antimicrobial Activity of Chlorhexidine Endodontic Irrigant [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dentistry
Background. Endodontic irrigants are essential for disinfecting the root canal system. None of the currently available irrigants perfume sufficiently. However, most products contain surfactants, which enhance the antimicrobial properties of the irrigants.

Effectiveness of chitosan nanoparticles, and novel chemical irrigants with surfactant on smear layer removal and microhardness alteration [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Oral Biology and Craniofacial Research
Objective: This current study was designed to compare and correlate between smear layer eradication and reduction in microhardness by natural 0.2%chitosan nanoparticles and novel chemical irrigants with surfactant at the apical root third.

Residual antibacterial activity of chlorhexidine and MTAD in human root dentin in vitro

open access: yesJournal of Oral Science, 2008
The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare the antimicrobial substantivity of BioPure MTAD, 2% chlorhexidine (CHX) and 2.6% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) in human root dentin. One hundred and ten dentin tubes prepared from human maxillary incisors were infected in vitro for 14 days with Enterococcus faecalis.

Effect of ultrasonication with EDTA or MTAD on smear layer, debris and erosion scores

open access: yesJournal of Oral Science, 2011
The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of ultrasonication with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and a mixture of tetracycline isomer, an acid, and a detergent (MTAD) as final canal irrigants on the smear layer, debris and erosion scores.
