Field Studies on the Influence of High‐Voltage Direct Transmission Underground Cables on Soils Along the SuedLink Route in Southwest Germany

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, Volume 189, Issue 4, Page 479-498, August 2026.
During regular operation of the SuedLink at a load ≤75 %, the average increase in temperature in the plowing horizon is expected to be less than 1.6°C in the soils along the route in Southwest Germany. ABSTRACT Background The SuedLink was planned as a high‐voltage direct‐current underground cable route. The construction itself is a massive intervention

The characterization of a new stabilized lactonase from the endophytic fungi Aspergillus pseudonomiae with anti‐bacterial and anti‐fungal properties

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Microorganisms use diverse small‐molecule signals to coordinate behavior, supporting interspecies and interkingdom communication. These chemical dialogs shape fundamental biological processes and define interactions from cooperation to antagonism.

Quantifying resolution in pink‐beam dark‐field X‐ray microscopy: experiments and simulations

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 59, Issue 4, Page 1139-1152, August 2026.
A quantitative comparison between pink‐beam and monochromatic dark‐field X‐ray microscopy (DFXM) shows that pink‐beam DFXM offers up to two orders of magnitude higher flux and improved signal‐to‐noise ratio for time‐resolved imaging, at the expense of an approximately tenfold loss in angular resolution.
