Fuel reformation by piston compression of rich air-fuel mixture
International Journal of Engine Research, 2021The purpose of this paper is to investigate and describe the fuel reformation by diesel piston compression to change the ignitability of commercial fuels for marine engines. The engine operational conditions were first investigated by CHEMKIN Pro with n-heptane as a fuel, an HCCI engine with port fuel injection was operated by n-heptane based on ...

Calculation of Parameters for Combustor with the Air–Fuel Mixture Premixing
Russian Aeronautics, 2021A technique is presented for calculating the main parameters along the flame tube length in the combustor with combustion of premixed air–fuel mixtures. The calculation in the combustion zone is carried out by numerical solution of the system of equations based on the well-known brutto reaction equation of material balance for a homogeneous reactor.

Hot-body ignition limits for air-fuel mixtures
Combustion, Explosion, and Shock Waves, 19671. The hot-body ignition temperatures under free convection conditions and the dependence of TS on composition were measured for air mxtures of hydrogen, acetylene, carbon disulfide, ethylene glycol ethyl ether, and diethyl ether. 2. It was established that ignition can occur at TS to 180°C which is incompatible with a thermal mechanism.
