Effects of Opening and Closing Fuel-Injector Valve on Air/Fuel Mixture [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power, 2016
Lower engine emissions like CO2, particulate matter (PM), and NOx have recently become more necessary in automobile engines to protect the earth's environment. Keeping uniformity of air/fuel mixture and decreasing fuel adhesion on walls of cylinder and piston are effective in order to reduce the engine emissions.

Provision of gas engine bus performance with air-fuel mixture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
© 2015, ASERS Publishing House. All rights reserved. To evaluate air ratio impact on the engine temperature condition, environmental and economic performance, in-operation and bench test of gas engines with an exhaust gas catalyst have been performed. Air-fuel mixture was adjusted with adjustment of a fuel supply ECU. Data given show air-fuel impact on

Calculation of Parameters for Combustor with the Air–Fuel Mixture Premixing

Russian Aeronautics, 2021
A technique is presented for calculating the main parameters along the flame tube length in the combustor with combustion of premixed air–fuel mixtures. The calculation in the combustion zone is carried out by numerical solution of the system of equations based on the well-known brutto reaction equation of material balance for a homogeneous reactor.

Fuel reformation by piston compression of rich air-fuel mixture

International Journal of Engine Research, 2021
The purpose of this paper is to investigate and describe the fuel reformation by diesel piston compression to change the ignitability of commercial fuels for marine engines. The engine operational conditions were first investigated by CHEMKIN Pro with n-heptane as a fuel, an HCCI engine with port fuel injection was operated by n-heptane based on ...

Modeling and research of combustion processes of tangentially swirled air-fuel mixture

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2021
The search and development of alternative energy sources for human life is a priority task for modern society. One of the promising directions is the use of biogas as a source of thermal energy for power plants. It is established that the main difference between biogas and natural gas is caused by the presence of more than 30% of carbon dioxide in its ...

Hot-body ignition limits for air-fuel mixtures

Combustion, Explosion and Shock Waves, 1965
1. The hot-body ignition temperatures under free convection conditions and the dependence of TS on composition were measured for air mxtures of hydrogen, acetylene, carbon disulfide, ethylene glycol ethyl ether, and diethyl ether. 2. It was established that ignition can occur at TS to 180°C which is incompatible with a thermal mechanism.

Transient plasma ignition of quiescent and flowing air/fuel mixtures

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2005
Transient plasmas that exist during the formative phase of a pulse-ignited atmospheric pressure discharge were studied for application to ignition of quiescent and flowing fuel-air mixtures. Quiescent methane-air mixture ignition was studied as a function of equivalence ratio, and flowing ethane-air mixture was studied in a pulse detonation engine (PDE)

Laser ignition in flowing air-fuel mixture

Laser Ignition Conference 2017, 2017
Influence of the flow of air-fuel mixture on laser ignition in a high-pressure environment was studied. It was found that the lean ignition limit of laser ignition was reduced by the flow.

Investigation of the Flame Stabilization Mechanism in Phase-Inhomogeneous Air—Fuel Mixtures

Russian Aeronautics, 2020
The mechanism of flame stabilization in phase-inhomogeneous air—fuel mixtures is considered. A method is proposed for refining the thermal theory of flame stabilization by taking into account the heat consumed for heating and evaporation liquid fuel in the ignition zone.
