Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Experimental Study of the Performance of Air Source Heat Pump Systems Assisted by Low-Temperature Solar-Heated Water

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2013
Due to the low temperatures, the heating efficiency of air source heat pump systems during the winter is very low. To address this problem, a low-temperature solar hot water system was added to a basic air source heat pump system. Several parameters were

Evaluation of the coefficient of performance of an air source heat pump unit and an air to water heat pump

open access: yesJournal of Energy in Southern Africa, 2021
Air source heat pump (ASHP) water heaters are efficient devices for sanitary hot water heating. The coefficient of performance (COP) of the air to water heat pump (AWHP) is constantly lower than that of the corresponding ASHP unit. The study focused on determining the COP of both the ASHP unit and the AWHP.

Removing Oxide Layers and Retaining Oxide‐Free Steel Surfaces by Polishing in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the efficacy of wet mechanical polishing under an oxygen‐free atmosphere for deoxidation and the retention of an oxide‐free steel surface are elucidated using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The methodology proved successful; however, the results were highly dependent on the preparation of the solvents used to clean the samples after ...
