Robust Diagnosis of Partial Demagnetization Fault in PMSMs Using Radial Air-Gap Flux Density Under Complex Working Conditions

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print)
Partial demagnetization fault (PDF) is a common problem for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The PMSM usually operates under complex working conditions (dynamic speed and various load), leading to the difficulty in robust PDF diagnosis.

Investigation of Slot–Pole Combination of Dual-Permanent-Magnet-Excited Vernier Machines by Using Air-Gap Field Modulation Theory

IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification, 2019
In this article, a dual-permanent-magnet-excited vernier machine is analyzed from the perspective of air-gap field harmonics. The air-gap field harmonics of the machine is analyzed using air-gap field modulation theory.

False Air-Bone Gap

Ear and Hearing, 1983
A single case is reported of a severely hearing-impaired child with a finding of a large air-bone gap on pure-tone audiometry on multiple tests. Exploratory surgery found normal middle ear function. Subsequent audiometry indicated the presence of a false air-bone gap resulting from vibrotactile responses.

Air-gap hydrophone

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1993
A hydrophone for the detection of sound or vibrational waves, comprising a piezo electric transducer within a Faraday cage such that it is in contact with and yet isolated from a deformable pressure transmitting medium that carries vibrations. The Faraday cage reduces noise interference.

Impact of Real Air-Gap Nonuniformity on the Electromagnetic Forces of a Large Hydro-Generator

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2018
In this paper, an accurate two-dimensional time-stepping finite-element model of a large hydro-generator considering a nonuniform air gap for computing the magnetic-flux density and the electromagnetic forces is developed and presented.
