Evaluating the effectiveness of push-pull ventilation system for controlling lead, zinc and sulfuric acid emitted from Zinc electrolysis vans of a zinc production industry

open access: yesMuhandisī-i bihdāsht-i ḥirfah/ī, 2017
Introduction: Air pollution is one of the hazardous factors on human health and the environment. In the zinc production industry, because of process nature and using electrolysis pools, the amount of production and diffusion of some of the harmful ...

Exploring the Activation of the Keap1‐Nrf2‐ARE Pathway by PAHs in Children's Toys

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, EarlyView.
Our study evaluated the skin sensitisation risk of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in toys, revealing that B[k]F, B[b]F and chrysene are highly potent sensitizers. Synergistic effects in PAH mixtures underscore the need to consider combined exposures when assessing environmental risks to children.

E-STGCN: Extreme Spatiotemporal Graph Convolutional Networks for Air Quality Forecasting [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Modeling and forecasting air quality plays a crucial role in informed air pollution management and protecting public health. The air quality data of a region, collected through various pollution monitoring stations, display nonlinearity, nonstationarity, and highly dynamic nature and detain intense stochastic spatiotemporal correlation.

Dual Role of Natural Killer Cells in Early Pregnancy: Immunopathological Implications and Therapeutic Potential in Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion and Recurrent Implantation Failure

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
This article elaborates on the role of NK cells in early pregnancy from multiple perspectives, including molecular mechanisms and therapeutic interventions. It also discusses how NK cell dysfunction contributes to RSA and RIF, aiming to provide insights for future research on NK cell mechanisms and clinical treatment of RSA and RIF.

A wearable real‐time particulate monitor demonstrates that soaking hay reduces dust exposure

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Affordable particulate matter (PM) monitors suitable for use on horses will facilitate the evaluation of PM mitigation methods and improve the management of equine asthma. Objective Calibrate a real‐time wearable PM monitor (Black Beauty [BB]) and compare the PM exposures of horses fed dry or soaked hay.

A Good Bloke and a Good Man to Do Business With: How Men Use Symbolic Masculinity to Network Through Golf

open access: yesGender, Work &Organization, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Business networks are known to be gendered. However, few studies have delved into precisely how gender relates to networking practices. This study focuses on the gendered symbolic practices used by men when they play golf for the purposes of business networking.

Physics-based deep learning reveals rising heating demand heightens air pollution in Norwegian cities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Policymakers frequently analyze air quality and climate change in isolation, disregarding their interactions. This study explores the influence of specific climate factors on air quality by contrasting a regression model with K-Means Clustering, Hierarchical Clustering, and Random Forest techniques. We employ Physics-based Deep Learning (PBDL) and Long
