Ventilation and air pollution studies using radioactive tracers. A critical review
The International Journal of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1977Abstract The use of radioactive tracers for ventilation and air pollution investigations is critically reviewed and future trends are analyzed. The use of 85 Kr for ventilation studies is expected to increase steadily because the methods are proven to be simple, accurate and safe.

Natural Radioactivity (Radon-222) and Air Pollution Measurements in Washington, D. C.
Journal of Applied Meteorology, 1966Abstract Atmospheric concentrations of radon (Rn222) were measured at urban, suburban and rural sites in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area during a stagnant weather regime in mid August 1965. An analysis of air quality data, radon concentrations and meteorology indicates that the stagnant weather conditions which lead to the accumulation of smoke,

Effect of air pollution on element profile and radioactive compounds in six tree species
2021Variation in macro and micronutrients and radioactivities (238U, 232Th, 137Cs, and 40K) due to air pollution was studied using six tree species: maple (Acer negundo), cypress (Cupressus arizonica) ash-tree (Fraxinus excelsior), pine (Pinus nigra), plane tree (Platanus orientalis), and poplar (Populus nigra). Tree leaf samples were collected in 2016 and

The results of the investigation of radiation hazard of forest fires in the radioactive contaminated areas in the article are presented. The activity concentration of long-lived radionuclides in forest fuel materials is shown. Airborne concentration of 137 Cs produced by the combustion of forest fuel materials with different contamination density can ...

The Effects of Ambient Air Pollution and Particle Radioactivity on Cardiovascular Health
2021ABSTRACT Exposure to ambient air pollution is a well-recognized risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Studies have shown that air pollution, especially acute exposure to traffic and industrial sources, can influence the autonomic nervous system and in turn affect heart rate variability leading to arrhythmias.

Developing new strategic ways to develop environmental education
Pressing Problems in Hydrometeorology and EcologyAccording to the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) report, the forecast for human development to 2032 is disappointing: More than 70% of the Earth's surface will be deformed in one way or another, more than a quarter of all animal and plant species will be
