Evaluation of Ambient Air Quality Monitoring System in Jakarta: A Literatur Review

open access: yesJurnal Serambi Engineering, 2019
As the first step to air pollution control and public health protection, Air quality monitoring systems provides information that indicate the extend of pollution in an area, the source of pollution and the types of pollutants. Therefore, the aim of this

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Impact of heatwaves on air pollutants in major climatic zones of India

open access: yesDiscover Geoscience
We analyzed air quality data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) during 2010–2023, focusing on heat and non-heat wave periods. Our analysis covered 7 pollutants (PM2.5, PM10, NO2, NH3, SO2, CO, O3) across 6 climate zones in India: Arid ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
