In order to obtain precise kinematic global positioning systems (GPS) in medium to large scale networks, the atmospheric effects from tropospheric and ionospheric delays need to be properly modeled and estimated.

The corrosion performance of line‐produced prepainted galvanized steel products was investigated upon the distance to the seashore in temperate environment over 8‐year exposure. The rate of underpaint corrosion from cut‐edge was estimated and depended on the agressiveness of the site and the angle of exposure.

Re‐Evaluating Springtime as Southern Arizona's Dust Season
Abstract The existing literature largely identifies spring as Arizona's predominant dust season, when synoptic‐scale dust events are most frequent and “Fine Soil” measurements from the IMPROVE (Interagency Monitoring of Protected Visual Environments) network reach a yearly maximum.

Abstract Global warming is causing rapid and profound impacts on northern ecosystems. Shifting precipitation, permafrost thaw, and rapid shrub advance into tundra environments are combining to alter stream temperature in uncertain ways. The expansion and increased abundance of shrub vegetation, termed shrubification, may moderate warming stream ...

Optimized Design of the SGA-WZ Strapdown Airborne Gravimeter Temperature Control System
The temperature control system is one of the most important subsystems of the strapdown airborne gravimeter. Because the quartz flexible accelerometer based on springy support technology is the core sensor in the strapdown airborne gravimeter and the ...

Accelerated contributions of Canada's Baffin and Bylot Island glaciers to sea level rise over the past half century [PDF]
Canadian Arctic glaciers have recently contributed large volumes of meltwater to the world's oceans. To place recently observed glacier wastage into a historical perspective and to determine the region's longer-term (~50 years) contribution to sea level,

Calcium and Multi‐Isotope Constraints on Cation Exchange in Groundwater
Abstract Cation exchange is one of the most important processes in water‐rock interaction in the presence of clay minerals, with a common Ca‐Mg‐Na exchange system. However, systematic verification of Ca isotopes for tracing cation exchange in natural environments is lacking due to overlapping factors, such as dissolution‐precipitation of Ca‐minerals ...

This study addresses the ecological role of coarse woody debris (CWD) as a thermally buffered microhabitat for saproxylic organisms in temperate eastern US forests. We measured internal and external log temperatures across four seasons in Southern Appalachian forests to test how log diameter, decay stage, and moisture influence thermal buffering.
