Surface Modeling for Airborne Lidar

IGARSS 2020 - 2020 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2020
Repeat-visit airborne lidar is a powerful tool for change detection in urban and rural environments. In this work, we present a learning-based approach that addresses one of the key challenges in comparing point cloud scans of the same region: handling geometric differences caused by varying sensor position.

A Scene Reconstruction Method of Airborne LiDAR

2021 IEEE 6th International Conference on Computer and Communication Systems (ICCCS), 2021
This article builds a simple, low-cost airborne LiDAR system, collecting and processing the actual data of large-scale outdoor scenes. Aiming at the actual characteristics of data, a Generalized-ICP registration algorithm based on ground segmentation is proposed to calculate the precise transformation relationship between point clouds.

Airborne Raman lidar

Applied Optics, 1996
We designed and tested an airborne lidar system using Raman scattering to make simultaneous measurements of methane, water vapor, and temperature in a series of flights on a NASA-operated C-130 aircraft. We present the results for methane detection, which show that the instrument has the requisite sensitivity to atmospheric trace gases.

Measuring Co2 Concentration by Airborne Lidar

2021 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium IGARSS, 2021
CO2 is the most important warming gas in atmosphere, it's meaningful to measure the CO2 concentration with high precise by different sensors. In this manuscript, we introduced the campaign of QHD (Qinhuangdao) flights, which equipped with CO2- IPDA (integrated path of different absorption LIDAR), an in-situ CO2 sensor, thermometer, hygrometer and GPS ...

Airborne Doppler lidar measurements

Applied Optics, 1986
This paper describes recent measurements using coherent Doppler lidars operating at a wavelength of 10.6 microm aboard the NASA Ames Convair 990. The purpose of the measurements was to obtain data on the atmospheric wind fields and the distribution of the backscatter coefficient at 10.6 microm. A description of the instruments is provided detailing the

Oceanographic airborne lidar

SPIE Proceedings, 2002
Characteristics, facility and first testing results of new multi-purpose oceanography lidar are presented. Lidar includes Q-switched Nd:YAG laser operating at wavelengths 532 and 1064 nm. Lidar registration system records scattered laser radiation with cross and collinear polarization at wavelength 532 nm or the other one.

Airborne lidar bathymetry

International Journal of Remote Sensing, 1986
Abstract Through an extensive literature review the results of previous lidar investigations in Australia, Canada, Sweden, the U.S.A. and West Germany have been evaluated. Based on these findings estimates are given for the anticipated depth capability, measurement accuracy and operational constraints for a laser system in U.K. waters. Consideration is

Airborne cw-Doppler lidar ADOLAR

Conference Proceedings Second Topical Symposium on Combined Optical-Microwave Earth and Atmosphere Sensing, 2002
During the last 10 years the DLR container LDA (Laser Doppler Anemometer) was used for many wind related measurements in the atmospheric boundary layer (Kopp et al., 1984). Based on the experiences on airborne cw-Doppler lidar was developed and tested. Wind field measurements in the boundary layer and signal strength studies were performed. >
