Review of Electrically Powered Propulsion for Aircraft [PDF]
This paper presents a review of the state-of-the-art in aircraft electrical propulsion technology. A comparison is provided of differing propulsion mechanisms such as propellers, open fans, ducted fans, multi-stage rim driven fans and distributed thrust designs and their suitability to particular flight profiles and mission applications.

Magnetic Flux Guides by Material Extrusion
Magnetic flux guidance can increase inductive coupling and forces for magnetic sensors, actuators, and transducers. Here, a magnetic material extrusion method is used to fabricate flux concentration structures of arbitrary shapes with a magnetic permeability of 42. In line with simulation analysis, experimental results show that these materials provide

Broadband Achromatic Programmable Electromagnetic Camouflage via Fluidic‐Accessible Metasurface
A fluidic access metasurface enables dynamic, broadband electromagnetic illusions. By physically reconstructing conductive patterns with liquid metal, the metasurface achieves real‐time, pixel‐level control over phase dispersion. This allows for the programmable generation of arbitrary strong scattering point arrays, effectively deceiving high ...

In-flight Lift and Drag Estimation of an Unmanned Propeller-Driven Aircraft
The high-power density and good scaling properties of electric motors enable new propulsion arrangements and aircraft configurations. This results in distributed propulsion systems allowing to make use of aerodynamic interaction effects between ...

A thermally programmable two‐port non‐Hermitian acoustic metastructure is presented, where temperature acts as a non‐geometric tuning variable. Thermal modulation reconfigures impedance matching and loss‐leakage coupling, enabling exceptional‐point driven, broadband, and direction‐dependent sound absorption without requiring geometric reconfiguration ...
