On the distribution of the zeros of generalized Airy functions [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1975
We give tables of zeros and values of the generalized Airy functions introduced by Swanson and Headley [SIAM J. Appl. Math., v. 15, 1967, pp. 1400-1412]. The tables enable us to sharpen substantially results on the distribution of the zeros. We show that the nonreal zeros are asymptotically close to the boundary rays of the sectors obtained in the ...

Bohr’s Phenomenon for the Solution of Second-Order Differential Equations

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The aim of this work is to establish a connection between Bohr’s radius and the analytic and normalized solutions of two differential second-order differential equations, namely y″(z)+a(z)y′(z)+b(z)y(z)=0 and z2y″(z)+a(z)y′(z)+b(z)y(z)=d(z).

On Non-Oscillating Integrals for Computing Inhomogeneous Airy Functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Integral representations are considered of solutions of the inhomogeneous Airy differential equation $w''-z w=\pm1/\pi$. The solutions of these equations are also known as Scorer functions.

A Solution of Plane Stress Problem Subjected to Horizontal Shear Force by Using Polynomial Airy Stress Function

open access: yesJournal of Materials and Engineering Structures, 2021
Many structural analysis problems in civil engineering and mechanical engineering can be treated as plane stress and plane strain problems introduced in the theory of elasticity.

Semiclassical transition probabilities by an asymptotic evaluation of the S matrix for elastic and inelastic collisions. Bessel uniform approximation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
It has been observed in the past that the usual Airy uniform approximation gives probabilities greater than one, especially for near elastic collisions.

Computing hypergeometric functions rigorously [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We present an efficient implementation of hypergeometric functions in arbitrary-precision interval arithmetic. The functions ${}_0F_1$, ${}_1F_1$, ${}_2F_1$ and ${}_2F_0$ (or the Kummer $U$-function) are supported for unrestricted complex parameters and ...

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

The Pearcey Process

open access: yes, 2004
The extended Airy kernel describes the space-time correlation functions for the Airy process, which is the limiting process for a polynuclear growth model.

Intravitreal GD2‐Specific Chimeric Antigen Receptor T‐Cell Therapy for Refractory Retinoblastoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Effective treatments for advanced, treatment‐resistant retinoblastoma (RB) remain limited. GD2‐specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells show potent antitumor activity with minimal toxicity but have not previously been evaluated in RB.

Schrödinger spectrum generated by the Cornell potential

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2015
The eigenvalues Ednl (a, c) of the d-dimensional Schrödinger equation with the Cornell potential V(r) = −a/r + c r, a, c > 0 are analyzed by means of the envelope method and the asymptotic iteration method (AIM).
