Numerical calculation of Bessel, Hankel and Airy functions

open access: yes, 2011
The numerical evaluation of an individual Bessel or Hankel function of large order and large argument is a notoriously problematic issue in physics. Recurrence relations are inefficient when an individual function of high order and argument is to be ...

On Airy Solutions of the Second Painleve Equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we discuss Airy solutions of the second Painleve equation and two related equations, the Painleve XXXIV equation and the Jimbo-Miwa-Okamoto sigma form of second Painleve equation, are discussed.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Subleading analysis for S 3 partition functions of N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 holographic SCFTs

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We investigate the 3-sphere partition functions of various 3d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 holographic SCFTs arising from the N stack of M2-branes in the ’t Hooft limit both analytically and numerically.

A hybrid technique for residual stress analysis through stress function fitting

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
This work presents a hybrid experimental theoretical technique for residual stresses analysis of mechanical components. It was used the blind hole technique along with the Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry (ESPI) method and Airy stress functions ...

The complex Airy operator with a semi-permeable barrier

open access: yes, 2016
We consider a suitable extension of the complex Airy operator, $-d^2/dx^2 + ix$, on the real line with a transmission boundary condition at the origin. We provide a rigorous definition of this operator and study its spectral properties. In particular, we

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

A Method for Reducing Transcendental Dispersion Relations to Nonlinear Ordinary Differential Equations in a Wide Class of Wave Propagation Problems

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
A class of problems of wave propagation in waveguides consisting of one or several layers that are characterized by linear variation of the squared refractive index along the normal to the interfaces between them is considered in this paper.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Trigonometric series adapted for the study of Neumann boundary-value problems of Lame systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
In this article, we study the solutions to Neumann boundary-value problems of Lame system in a sectorial domains. We study directly this problem, by using trigonometric series, without going through the Airy functions.
