Design and Development of an Accessible Clip Gauge Extensometer for CMOD Measurement in Fracture Mechanics

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 2, February 2026.
A low‐cost clip gauge extensometer for crack mouth opening displacement was developed from accessible procedures and materials. Accuracy and repeatability comparable to commercial devices were demonstrated in calibration and fracture tests, enabling reliable measurement in CT specimens for resource‐constrained laboratories.

Characterization of Laser Structuring on AISI 304 Stainless Steel

open access: yesAl-Nahrain Journal for Engineering Sciences
Super-hydrophobic is the tendency of a surface to spit out water droplets. Only a surface with high apparent contact angle (>1500), low contact angle hysteresis (<100), low sliding angle (<50), and strong Cassie model state stability is considered a super-hydrophobic surface.

Analysis of Melt-Pool Behaviors during Selective Laser Melting of AISI 304 Stainless-Steel Composites

open access: yesMetals, 2019
The melt-pool behaviors during selective laser melting (SLM) of Al2O3-reinforced and a eutectic mixture of Al2O3-ZrO2-reinforced AISI 304 stainless-steel composites were numerically analyzed and experimentally validated. The thermal analysis results show

Design and Functional Characterization of a Plasma‐Activated Aerosol System for Microbial Inactivation

open access: yesPlasma Processes and Polymers, Volume 23, Issue 2, February 2026.
Plasma‐activated aerosol (PAA) can produce RONS‐rich droplets useful for microbial inactivation. PAA treatment induces near‐complete inactivation of both bacterial and fungal loads, highlighting peroxynitrite‐driven antimicrobial activity and strong potential for scalable sanitization.

Effect of Process Parameters on Friction Properties of AISI 304 Steel Sheet during Strip Drawing Test

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 2, Page 955-966, February 2026.
This study investigates how drawing process parameters affect the tribological behavior of AISI 304 steel sheet. Under lubricated conditions, increasing normal force, drawing speed, and countersamples roughness reduces the coefficient of friction by up to 21%.
