Characterization of AISI 304/AISI 409 stainless steel joints using different filler materials

Construction and Building Materials, 2017
Abstract Four different industrial filler metals were selected for the joining of AISI 304 austenitic to AISI 409 ferritic stainless steel. These fillers were austenitic and duplex stainless steels and a nickel-based alloy. The microhardness and longitudinal tensile tests were performed for evaluation of the mechanical properties. The microstructural

Microstructure evolution in stress relaxation behavior of austenite AISI 304 stainless steel spring

Materials Characterization, 2019
In order to investigate the microstructure evolution of spring stress relaxation under different conditions, a microscopic analysis is carried out for the austenitic AISI 304 stainless steel spring.

Evaluation of Self-Healing Behaviour of AISI 304 Stainless Steel

Transactions of the Indian Institute of Metals, 2014
AISI 304 stainless steel (SS) is used in applications like automotive, oil, gas and the food industry due to its excellent combination of corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. However, due to sensitisation, its corrosion resistance reduces, rendering it more vulnerable to inter-granular corrosion.

Identification of Inelastic Parameters of the AISI 304 Stainless Steel

2019
A proper choice of inelastic parameters is one of the most important aspects for a successful simulation of metal forming processes. Several issues must be observed when choosing such parameters, amongst which the compatibility between the magnitude of the plastic deformation of the target forming operation and the mechanical test employed to obtain ...

Stainless hard coating obtained by electric arc on AISI 304 stainless steel

Revue de Métallurgie, 2001
The hardness and wear resistance of 304 stainless steel have been increased by electric arc charging with two hyppereutectic alloy coatings. Oxidation tests have shown that, thanks to the presence of silicon in the coating, a protecting layer of Cr 2 O 3 can develop, which leads to an oxidation rate similar to that of the substrate.
