Strain Dependence of the Magnetic Properties of AISI 4130 and 4140 Alloy Steels
The magnetic properties of ferromagnetic materials are very sensitive to the mechanical treatment and condition of the material [1]. Therefore magnetic methods for non destructive evaluation of the mechanical properties of steels have received increasing attention in recent years.

Abstract The cumulative effect of many incidents that are brought about by an increase in temperature establishes an environment in which premature failure (including fatigue failure) becomes a challenging issue. Isothermal rotating bending fatigue (IT‐RBF) testing may simulate industrial components' high temperatures and rotating environments.

Abstract This study details the fabrication of an icephobic coating for steel produced using a silicone–epoxy hybrid resin; the coating has good mechanical properties and weathering resistance for outdoor applications. Silicone–epoxy hybrid resins and amino‐functional silane‐curing agents were selected for investigation and applied to steel samples ...

High-temperature oxidation behavior of aluminized AISI 4130 steel [PDF]
AISI 4130 steel was dipped into a molten aluminum bath at 700°C for 16 s to produce an aluminide coating on the steel substrate. The coating, which consisted of an Al-rich layer and an FeAl3 and Fe2Al5 intermetallic layer, strongly adhered to the steel substrate.

Influence of heat treatment on fatigue behaviour of 4130 AISI steel
The 4130 steel is widely used in petroleum and gas industry. During the use, it can be exposed to high temperatures for long duration as well as to severe cyclic loading as a consequence of start and shut down procedure. Both have an effect on microstructure and on mechanical strength, especially fatigue resistance.
