SENP3 Drives Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Development by Regulating Ferroptosis via De‐SUMOylation of CTH

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 16, April 24, 2025.
In this study, it is proposed that SENP3 accumulates in macrophages of aneurysmal aortic tissues, which promotes macrophage ferroptosis and inflammation via regulation of CTH de‐SUMOylation. Abstract Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a high‐risk inflammatory disorder. SENP3, a SUMO2/3‐specific protease, is closely involved in the development of cancer.

Large‐Scale Environmental Drivers of Kelp Biofouling Based on Literature Data

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 17, Issue 2, March 2025.
Our findings from data compiled from a systematic literature review and databases of marine data show that kelp biofouling species are linked to environmental conditions and specifically temperature for bryozoans, salinity for gastropods, and the type of kelp population (wild vs. not wild) for hydrozoans.

Cotton BOP1 mediates SUMOylation of GhBES1 to regulate fibre development and plant architecture

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 22, Issue 11, Page 3054-3067, November 2024.
Summary The Arabidopsis BLADE‐ON‐PETIOLE (BOP) genes are primarily known for their roles in regulating leaf and floral patterning. However, the broader functions of BOPs in regulating plant traits remain largely unexplored. In this study, we investigated the role of the Gossypium hirsutum BOP1 gene in the regulation of fibre length and plant height ...

SENP1‐Mediated HSP90ab1 DeSUMOylation in Cardiomyocytes Prevents Myocardial Fibrosis by Paracrine Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 34, September 11, 2024.
SENP1 deficiency in cardiomyocytes induces cardiac fibrosis by promoting Fn transcription and secretion. Extracellular Fn promotes fibroblast activation through integrin‐FAK signaling. HSP90ab1 Lys72 SUMOylation is key site for promoting STAT3‐mediated Fn transcription.

The aggregation effect of offshore mussel farming on pelagic fishes

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 4, Issue 2, April 2024.
As well as adding hard structure to the seabed, mussel aquaculture adds rope droppers and anchor lines to the water column, where such structure would otherwise be absent. This paper aims to monitor the effects of mussel headlines on the pelagic fish community over time, as well as to investigate whether there is an interaction between the age of ...

Laylat al-Qadr as sacred time: sacred cosmology in Sunnī Kalām and Tafsīr [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this analysis we will show how the Islamic tradition constructs a sacred cosmology wherein a sacred space and sacred time are defined. In Sunni Islam only a few sacred spaces on earth exist, the majority belong to the world unseen (ʿālam al- ghayb ...

PTEN‐mediated dephosphorylation of 53BP1 confers cellular resistance to DNA damage in cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 18, Issue 3, Page 580-605, March 2024.
In response to DNA damage, p14ARF is phosphorylated and then interacts efficiently with PTEN, which increases PTEN SUMOylation. SUMOylated PTEN is recognized and recruited by BRCA1 to chromatin at DNA break sites. Chromatin‐loaded PTEN directly and specifically dephosphorylates pT543‐53BP1, resulting in disassociation of downstream effectors of the ...

Perceived Barriers of Clinical Roles Towards Intensive Care Unit Mobility

open access: yesRehabilitation Research and Practice, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Background: There is overwhelming evidence of improved patient outcomes as a result of early mobilization in the intensive care unit (ICU). However, several barriers of ICU mobility remain understated with reference to clinical roles. The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceived barriers of early mobility of critically ill patients among ...
