Toluene methylation on Al13- and GaAl12-pillared clay catalysts
Applied Catalysis A: General, 1999Abstract The catalytic activity and selectivity of montmorillonite pillared with Al13 and GaAl12 polyoxycations have been investigated at temperatures between 573 K and 673 K for the gas-phase microcatalytic alkylation of toluene with methanol. A mixture of xylenes (XYs) was obtained as the main reaction products: 69% and 74% of xylenes for the Al ...

Fluorination of the epsilon-Keggin Al13 polycation.
Chemical communications (Cambridge, England), 2004Fluorination of the Al13 polycation in epsilon-Keggin (Kepsilon-J) conformation, leads to partial substitution of di-mu2-OH bridges by fluorine and enhances the formation of Al30 polycation.

Novel synthesis of Al13-cluster based alumina materials
Nanostructured Materials, 1999Abstract The polyoxocation Al13O4(OH)24(H2O)127+, known as an Al13 cluster, has been synthesized by controlled hydrolysis of aluminum(III) aqueous solution at 70 oC, and pH between 5.0 and 6.0. The formation of the polyoxocation Al13O4(OH)24(H2O)127+ in solution was experimentally confirmed by 27Al NMR. The Al13 cluster-containing powder was obtained

Abstract The grafting reactions between trimethylchlorosilane (TMCS) and Al13-intercalated montmorillonite were investigated using X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and nitrogen adsorption–desorption isotherms. The influence of solvent on the grafting process is discussed.

Characteristics of BPA removal from water by PACl-Al13 in coagulation process
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2009This paper discussed the coagulation characteristics of BPA with polyaluminum chloride (PACl-Al(13)) as coagulant, examined the impact of coagulation pH, PACl-Al(13) dosage, TOC (total organic carbon) and turbidity on BPA removal, and analyzed the possible dominant mechanisms in water coagulation process.

Abstract The conventional method of synthesizing porous clay heterostructures (PCHs) is based on the use of cetyltrimethylammonium cations, amines (as a co-surfactant) and a silica source. In the present study, we report the preparation of PCH materials from Al 13 -intercalated montmorillonite and its pillared derivatives using one directing template

Characterization and coagulation of a polyaluminum chloride (PAC) coagulant with high Al13 content
Journal of Environmental Management, 2005A polyaluminum chloride (PAC) coagulant was prepared from AlCl3 x 6H2O and Na2CO3. The Al13 species in PAC was separated and purified by the SO4(2-)/Ba2+ deposition-replacement method, and characterized by 27Al-NMR and XRD. From 27Al-NMR spectroscopy, it was found that PAC obtained after separation and purification contained more Al13 (PAC-Al13, for ...

On the stability of Al13 Keggin cation in aqueous hydrogen peroxide solutions
Russian Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2017We report the first attempt to study the behavior of the [AlO4Al12(OH)25(H2O)11]6+ (Al13) Keggin cation (KC) in water–peroxide solutions. Addition of hydrogen peroxide into an aqueous solution containing the Al13 KC reduces pH due to the acidity of hydrogen peroxide. According to the 27Al NMR studies of water–peroxide solutions prepared just before the

[Separation and purification of Al13 by chemical precipitation and metathesis].
Huan jing ke xue= Huanjing kexue, 2008PACls with different concentrations were prepared by adding sodium carbonate powder into AlCl13 solution. Medium concentration and high Al13 content of PACl was chosen to carry out Al13 separation processes. The influences of SO4/Al molar ratio and the initial total Al concentration on the precipitation reactions of sulfate with different Al species ...
