Diastereoisomeric saponins from Albizia julibrissin
Carbohydrate Research, 2005The structures of four new diastereoisomeric triterpenoidal saponins Julibroside J5, J8, J12 and J13 (1-4) isolated from Albizia julibrissin Durazz. (Leguminosae) have been determined on the basis of comprehensive spectroscopic analysis and chemical degradation.

Hehuanpi, Cortex Albiziae, is the dry stem bark of Albizia julibrissin Durazz. (Fabaceae) collected in summer or fall. The Chinese Pharmacopoeia requires for this official herbal medicine a qualitative determination of the saponin content by a foam test and by hemolytic activity on rabbit erythrocytes in physiological saline.

Leaf flavonoids of Albizia lebbeck
Phytochemistry, 1998Two new tri-O-glycoside flavonols: kaempferol and quercetin 3-O-alpha-rhamnopyranosyl(1-->6)-beta-glucopyranosyl(1-->6)-beta- galactopyranosides, were identified from the leaves of Albizia lebbeck. Structures were established by conventional methods of analysis and confirmed by ESI-MS, 1H and 13C-NMR spectral analysis.
