Like Human, Like Algorithm: Responses to Algorithmic Discrimination Among Individuals From Protected Classes

open access: yesBritish Journal of Management, Volume 37, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Algorithms, commonly used in business practice, often discriminate against members of protected classes (e.g. racial minorities). Previous research findings suggest that individuals, including those from protected classes, under some circumstances, may not respond negatively to discriminatory algorithms.

NIHAO XIX: How supernova feedback shapes the galaxy baryon cycle

open access: yes, 2019
We have used the NIHAO simulations to explore how supernovae (SNe) affect star formation in galaxies. We find that SN feedback operates on all scales from the interstellar medium (ISM) to several virial radii.

Zooming in on supermassive black holes: how resolving their gas cloud host renders their accretion episodic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Born in rapidly evolving mini-halos during the first billion years of the Universe, super- massive black holes (SMBH) feed from gas flows spanning many orders of magnitude, from the cosmic web in which they are embedded to their event horizon.

Remote Sensing of Endogenous Pigmentation by Inducible Synthetic Circuits in Grasses

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 4, Page 2244-2259, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Plant synthetic biology holds great promise for engineering plants to meet future demands. Genetic circuits are being designed, built and tested in plants to demonstrate the proof of concept. However, developing these components in monocots, which the world relies on for grain, lags behind dicot models, such as Arabidopsis thaliana and ...
