Novel cyanide-hydrolyzing enzyme from Alcaligenes xylosoxidans subsp. denitrificans [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology, 1991
A cyanide-metabolizing bacterium, strain DF3, isolated from soil was identified as Alcaligenes xylosoxidans subsp. denitrificans. Whole cells and cell extracts of strain DF3 catalyzed hydrolysis of cyanide to formate and ammonia (HCN + 2H2O----HCOOH + NH3) without forming formamide as a free intermediate.

The active form of quinol-dependent nitric oxide reductase from Neisseria meningitidis is a dimer

open access: yesIUCrJ, 2020
Neisseria meningitidis is carried by nearly a billion humans, causing developmental impairment and over 100 000 deaths a year. A quinol-dependent nitric oxide reductase (qNOR) plays a critical role in the survival of the bacterium in the human host.

3D domain swapping of azurin fromAlcaligenes xylosoxidans

open access: yesMetallomics, 2020
AbstractProtein oligomers have gained interest, owing to their increased knowledge in cells and promising utilization for future materials. Various proteins have been shown to 3D domain swap, but there has been no domain swapping report on a blue copper protein. Here, we found that azurin from Alcaligenes xylosoxidans oligomerizes by the procedure of 2,
