Imaging of Lipid Droplets in Living Cells and Mice with Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease via a Galactose‐Modified Supramolecular Near‐Infrared Fluorescent Glycoprobe

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A galactose‐modified supramolecular near‐infrared (NIR) glycoprobe, TCF‐FBN@Gal‐BSA, enables targeted delivery to the liver through the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR) and facilitates liver‐targeting fluorescence visualization of lipid droplets (LDs) in metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) mice.

Growth Factors and Alcohol Use Disorder.

open access: yesCold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Medicine, 2020
Neurotrophic growth factors were originally characterized for their support in neuronal differentiation, outgrowth, and survival during development. However, it has been acknowledged that they also play a vital role in the adult brain.

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Alcohol use disorders

open access: yesMedicine, 2020
Abstract Alcohol use is associated with a significant variety of harms to both the individual and society. Screening for alcohol use disorders should be part of most clinical assessments. It is particularly important to identify people with features of physical dependence as they can be at risk of complications on alcohol withdrawal.

Engineering Strategies for 2D Layered Tin Halide Perovskite Field‐Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D halide perovskites are promising candidates for field‐effect transistor (FET) applications due to their high stability and suppressed ion migration in the presence of bulky organic spacers. This review systematically summarizes the optimization engineering strategies of 2D perovskite FETs and future challenges, which provide guidance for developing ...

Is the relationship between major depressive disorder and self-reported alcohol use disorder an artificial one ? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
AIMS: Many studies have suggested a close relationship between alcohol use disorder (AUD) and major depressive disorder (MDD). This study aimed to test whether the relationship between self-reported AUD and MDD was artificially strengthened by the ...

Identifying alcohol problems among suicide attempters visiting the emergency department

open access: yesBMC Psychiatry, 2019
Background Many suicide attempters brought to our emergency department (ED) have been found to have alcohol problems, and this should be taken serious consideration because alcohol use disorder is a risk factor for suicide reattempt.

Strain Partitioning at the Oxide Interface for the Isothermal Phase Transition in Freestanding Tri‐Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The metal–insulator transition temperature (TMI) is continuously tuned by the systematic change of relative thickness in VO2 and TiO2 films (tVO2/tTiO2${t_{{\mathrm{V}}{{\mathrm{O}}_2}}}/{t_{{\mathrm{Ti}}{{\mathrm{O}}_2}}}$) in freestanding TiO2/VO2/TiO2 tri‐layers.
