Cu/ZrO2 Catalyst Modified with Y2O3 for Effective and Stable Dehydration of Glycerol to Acetol

open access: yesMolecules
Glycerol is a main by-product of biodiesel production, and its further processing is essential for the biorefinery. In this paper, a highly active and stable catalyst for the catalytic dehydration of glycerol to acetol is obtained by modifying a Cu-Zr ...

Promoting electrocatalytic CO2 reduction to formate via sulfur-boosting water activation on indium surfaces

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
CO2 conversion to liquid fuels provides an appealing means to remove the greenhouse gas, although it is challenging to find materials that are both active and selective.

Green Organoselenium Chemistry: Selective Syntheses of New 1,4-Thiaselenine Derivatives Based on Reactions of Thiaselenole Reagent with Alcohols and Water

open access: yesInorganics, 2023
Environmentally friendly synthetic methods were developed for the selective preparation of new 2,3-dihydro-1,4-thiaselenine derivatives in high yields based on the reactions of 2-bromomethyl-1,3-thiaselenole with alcohols and water at room temperature ...

Phospholipase D in Phytophthora infestans and Its Role in Zoospore Encystment

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2002
We show that differentiation of zoospores of the late blight pathogen Phytophthora infestans into cysts, a process called encystment, was triggered by both phosphatidic acid (PA) and the G-protein activator mastoparan. Mastoparan induced the accumulation

Palladium-Catalyzed Allylation/Benzylation of H-Phosphinate Esters with Alcohols

open access: yesMolecules, 2016
The Pd-catalyzed direct alkylation of H-phosphinic acids and hypophosphorous acid with allylic/benzylic alcohols has been described previously. Here, the extension of this methodology to H-phosphinate esters is presented. The new reaction appears general,

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
