Intra‐Annular Versus Supra‐Annular Self‐Expanding Valves for Valve‐in‐Valve TAVR

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background A limitation of Valve‐in‐Valve (VIV) transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is patient‐prosthesis mismatch (PPM), which is associated with worse quality of life and heart failure hospitalizations. As such, strategies to avoid PPM are desired. We compared the clinical and hemodynamic results of VIV TAVR with intra‐annular self‐

Rubrolides A, D, P, T, U: Total Syntheses and Antibacterial Evaluation of Highly Brominated Marine Natural Products

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Following the Danube Flow. The first total syntheses of highly brominated rubrolides T, U, and U‐analog, together with the efficient and divergent syntheses of rubrolides A, D, and P. The dibrominated key intermediate, obtained via a Suzuki‐Miyaura cross‐coupling reaction, is the centerpiece of the synthesis.

Making Two out of One: Kinesin Motors Driving Plant Cell Division

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Kinesin superfamily of microtubule dependent motors is present in all eukaryotes. Not all of the subfamilies are represented in all kingdoms, and the ones that are do not always show conserved functions. Tight control of the cytoskeleton is essential for proper progression and completion of mitosis and cytokinesis, and key functions are ...

Lesions Associated With Autism Symptoms Map to a Cerebellar Brain Network in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) affects 1 in 36 individuals in the United States and is characterized by impaired social communication and restrictive/repetitive behaviors. Individuals with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) have a high incidence of ASD (40%) and exhibit congenital brain lesions (tubers), offering a unique lesion‐based ...

Non‐Syndromic Tumefactive Demyelinating Lesions in the Pediatric Population: Four Case Reports and Review of the Literature

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Tumefactive demyelinating lesions (TDLs) are large lesions (> 2 cm) seen in demyelinating syndromes such as multiple sclerosis, myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody‐associated disorder, and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder. They rarely occur in children and most often have a monophasic course.
