The Properties of Galaxies in Low Density Regions from the ALFALFA Survey [PDF]
Galaxies detected in the 21-cm line of neutral hydrogen (HI) from the on-going Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA (ALFALFA) blind extragalactic HI survey have been cross-correlated with Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7 (Abazajian et al. 2009) in order to define a reference sample of HI content in regions of low galactic density.

Identifying OH Imposters in the ALFALFA Neutral Hydrogen Survey [PDF]
OH megamasers (OHMs) are rare, luminous molecular masers that are typically observed in (ultra) luminous infrared galaxies and serve as markers of major galaxy mergers. In blind emission line surveys such as the Arecibo Legacy Fast Arecibo L-Band Feed Array (ALFALFA) survey for neutral hydrogen (HI), OHMs at z~0.2 can mimic z~0.05 HI lines.

HI Cosmology in the Local Universe with ALFALFA [PDF]
The Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA (ALFALFA) survey is an on-going second generation blind extragalactic HI survey exploiting Arecibo's superior sensitivity, angular resolution and digital technology to conduct a census of the local HI universe over a cosmologically significant volume.

The introduction of Genetically-Engineered (GE) alfalfa requires a mechanism for producers to successfully grow and market alfalfa hay destined for GE-sensitive markets such as organic and export. A process of coexistence includes elements of respect for

Interactions of alfalfa hay and sodium propionate on dairy calf performance and rumen development.
The objective of this experiment was to investigate the effects of different levels of alfalfa hay (AH) and sodium propionate (Pro) added to starter diets of Holstein calves on growth performance, rumen fermentation characteristics, and rumen development.

Alfalfa hay substitution for wheat straw improves beef quality via rumen microflora alteration
The use of high-quality roughage to improve beef quality has become an important issue in China, as the country has become the world's largest beef consumer.

ALFALFA: HI Cosmology in the Local Universe [PDF]
For the last 25 years, the 21 cm line has been used productively to investigate the large-scale structure of the Universe, its peculiar velocity field and the measurement of cosmic parameters. In February 2005 a blind HI survey that will cover 7074 square degrees of the high latitude sky was started at Arecibo, using the 7-beam feed L-band feed array ...

Due to the increasing cost of soybean meal and concerns of excess N being excreted into the environment, new protein supplements have been developed. Two products that have shown potential in increasing N utilization efficiency are slow-release urea (SRU;
