Physical properties of an Alfisol and no-till soybean yield

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo, 2012
It is known that any kind of soil management causes changes in the soil physical characteristics and can affect agricultural yield. The purpose of this study was to evaluate soil properties of an Alfisol and soybean yield under different management systems for no-tillage annual crops, no-tillage with chiseling and no-tillage crop rotation.

Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) Water Relations, Growth, and Productivity as Affected by Salinity in Two Soils with Contrasting Mineralogies

open access: yesSoil Systems
Soil salinity affects crop growth and production, especially in arid and semi-arid regions of the world. The interactions between salt ions and soil particles vary depending on soil texture, mineralogy, and ion composition.

Potential of corn cob compost in corn fertilization on alfisol soil [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
Corn cobs as waste material after the seeds are removed have not been utilized so they have the potential to become pollutants. Alfisols as marginal land require improvement materials for cultivated land.

PENGARUH DOSIS INOKULUM AZOLLA DAN PUPUK FOSFAT ALAM TERHADAP KETERSEDIAAN P DAN HASIL PADI DI ALFISOL

open access: yesCaraka Tani: Journal of Sustainable Agriculture, 2014
Rice production in Indonesia can not cover the national needs. The low productivity caused by the decline in soil fertility. One way to increase the phosphorus content in the soil is to provide natural phosphate fertilizer and Azolla inoculum. This study

Geology, geohydrology, and soils of NASA, Kennedy Space Center: A review [PDF]

open access: yes
Sediments underlying Kennedy Space Center (KSC) have accumulated in alternating periods of deposition and erosion since the Eocene. Surface sediments are of Pleistocene and Recent ages.

Phosphorus Management on ‘Extensive' Organic Farms with Infertile Soils [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Two case-study farms with negative P balances maintained acceptable productivity without fertilisers, apparently by ‘mining’ ‘available’ P reserves in surface and subsoil.

Zeolite and Organic Fertilizer Application to The Improvement of Available P and Soybean (Glycine max L) Seed Yield in Alfisols

open access: yesSains Tanah: Journal of Soil Science and Agroclimatology, 2017
The problem of low soybean yield on Alfisol is low soil fertility. The availability of P is often a constraint because the P element on the Alfisol soil is strongly bound by Al and Fe elements.

Soil Development in Quaternary Glacial Deposits, Waterton Park Area, Southwestern Alberta [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Pedological investigations in the Waterton Park area provide a useful means of testing subdivisions of Quaternary glacial deposits based on geomorphic relations. Soils in the region, however, including Podzols, Brunisols, Luvisols, and Chernozemics, also

Unravelling upbuilding pedogenesis in tephra and loess sequences in New Zealand using tephrochronology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The genesis of soils developed in either tephra or loess on stable sites differs markedly from that of soils developed on rock because classical topdown processes operate in conjuction with geological processes whereby material is added to the land ...
