Algal Biomass and Biodiesel Production
2019To enable large-scale production of algae biomass, technologies should be developed so that biodiesel production will have significant effect on renewable fuels standards. Cultivation of algae is followed by harvesting, and then, processing of microalgae for producing biodiesel reviewed in this chapter.

Deconvoluting algal and bacterial biomass concentrations in algal-bacterial suspensions
Journal of Applied Phycology, 2014Algae and algal-bacterial consortia have many applications including biofuel production, as source of many beneficial products, and in wastewater treatment. With increasing interest in such systems, a suitable method to estimate the individual biomass concentrations of algae and bacteria in a mixed suspension is still not available.

Co-pyrolysis of oily sludge and algal biomass
Journal of Environmental ManagementAlternative fuels have attracted rising attention as sustainable energy options due to mounting pressures to lower greenhouse gas emissions and decrease dependence on fossil fuels. This study investigates the co-pyrolysis of oily sludge (OS), a petroleum refinery residue, and algal biomass (AB), a biological waste stream rich in organic content from ...
